Lucknow – Under the guidance of Dr. J.P. Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), National Science Day was celebrated in collaboration with the Innovation Hub and Biotech Park, Lucknow. The event had the privilege of hosting Dr. G.N. Singh, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, as the chief guest. Additionally, Maulindu Mishra, Vice President of Avadh Prant Vigyan Bharati, graced the event as a distinguished guest. Dr. Mannan Akhtar, Principal Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Medical Education Department and CEO of Promote Pharma, was also invited as a special guest.
The event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Dr. B.N. Mishra, Dean of Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship at AKTU, Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma, Associate Dean, Vandana Sharma, Manager of Innovation Hub, and Anurag Tripathi, Assistant Manager, KCIISF, AKTU. The event commenced with welcome addresses by Dr. B.N. Mishra and Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma. During his speech, Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma provided insights into AKTU’s initiatives in promoting innovation, startup culture, and the establishment of the Kalam Patent Center.
The program featured informative sessions for students, researchers, and startups. Dr. Shiv Pujan Shukla, Advisor at Biotech Park, Lucknow, delivered an enlightening talk on the regulatory landscape of ‘Good Laboratory Practices.’ Senior scientist Dr. Ashish Dwivedi from CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, presented key research findings, emphasizing his study on ‘Photoaging and Autophagy.’
A poster presentation competition was organized, showcasing research projects centered on biotechnology’s role in human and environmental welfare. A significant discussion was held on developing ‘Synthetic Microbial Community’ to modify cattle feed, aiming to reduce methane emissions from livestock. Additionally, research was presented on utilizing five crore cows as ‘Bio-Fermenters’ for the production of bioplastics, marking a revolutionary step in this domain.
A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University and Biotech Park, strengthening research collaborations. The MoU was formally signed in the presence of Dr. Shalini Tripathi and Dr. Neeraj Shukla from the Language University and Dr. S.C. Shukla from Biotech Park.
Furthermore, the official launch of Promote Pharma’s bank account took place, with the ceremonial handing over of a checkbook to Promote Pharma’s CEO, Dr. Mannan Akhtar, by chief guest Dr. G.N. Singh, Dr. B.N. Mishra, and Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma.
